Services

  • We have 3 powder coating lines, the biggest of which is 7.6 metres; all are kitted out with the latest Gema Powder Coating system. We run both day and night shifts, and won't be beaten on turnaround time and quality of service.

    • Up to 7.5 m x 3.0 m x 2.2 m (24'7" x 9'10" x 7'2").
    • Up to 3 tonnes (3,000 kg).
    • We mainly powder coat in architectural grade polyester, but also offer pure epoxy, anti microbial powders, Plascoat and nylon powders.
    • Special effects powders; metallic, leatherette, hammer finish and fluorescents.
  • Sand/grit blasting removes rust, existing paint/powder coating and provides an ideal key for powder to attach.

    • Up to 6.0 m x 3.0 m x 2.2 m (19'8" x 9'10" x 7'2").
    • Up to 3 tonnes (3,000 kg).
    • In chilled iron (for aggressive cleaning) or glass/sand (for gentler cleaning on metals such as aluminium).
  • Non-Chromate Conversion Coating is an alternative to bulk anodizing aluminium, providing additional corrosion protection whilst maintaining the aluminium finish.

    • Up to 6.0 m x 1.5 m x 0.8 m (19'8" x 7'11" x 2'7").
  • A variety of pre-treatments allow us to safely remove any contaminants or unwanted material that may affect the finish quality.

    • Non-Chromate Conversion Coating (NCCC): an alternative when bulk anodizing is impractical or not cost effective. NCCC leaves the aluminium finish intact, providing additional corrosion protection, free of cracking on the surface coating.
    • Degreasing: The process of removing grease and oils from metal which was applied during the construction process.
    • 'T-Washing': A pre-treatment for galvanised steel to ensure the subsequent adhesion of powder.
    • 'Etching': A layer of acid eats into metal and creates a rough area which is more ideal to coat on.
    • 'Tak Ragging': The removal of small dust particles from the metal.
    • De-Gassing: A method used to drive out gas trapped within galvanised steel (alternatively we have powders which do not allow gassing to occur).
    • Sand Blasting: If a product we receive has paint, rust or any other coating which prevents us from producing a perfect finish then sometimes blasting is used.
  • Our quality control ensures every job is finished to the highest standards and packaging options mean it reaches you in the same condition.

    • A Micron Counter can be used to check the thickness of powder.
    • Specialist cling film and/or bubble wrap to ensure the product is delivered scratch free.
    • Items can be securely palletised or packaged to any specification.
    • We have several vehicles suitable of transporting up to 7.5 tonnes (7,500 kg) offering collection and/or delivery.
    • We can collect and deliver to anywhere in Great Britain.

  • Sanding

The first step of pre-treatment, a light sand down for a perfect base.

  • Etching

Constructed from aluminium, etching follows (this has now been repaced with our NCCC tanks). Etching provides a key for the powder to stick to aluminium.

  • Powder Coating

Powder coating follows, applied to the required thickness.

  • Quality Control & Packaging

Once cured in our oven and cooled, the powder thickness is checked and a visual inspection undertaken by our Quality Control team. Finally it is bubble-wrapped and shrink-wrapped to ensure it arrives in a perfect condition.

  • Grand National 2018 sign

On-site at Aintree the various powder coated pieces are assembled (the red ball, green circle and black base), foliage surrounds added and finally the water feature turned on.

  • Raw Gates

The gates arrived rusty and with paint peeling.

  • Grit Blasting

The gates were blasted with grit to remove any existing paint and rust, back to a raw metal.

  • Powder Coating

The gates were given a zinc undercoat (for increased weatherability) and coloured top coat.
